Prompt April 30, 2013–In a Shambles

In a Shambles – Carmel Westerman

My office is only tidied when I’m expecting company. To put it bluntly, I feel comfortable in my own clutter. If you want to call it a shambles – so be it. The room is so tiny, there is only space enough to walk into my office and sit down. To tidy it would require too much energy. I look forward to going to my office, turning on the computer; and re-reading the last chapter of my latest draft. Then when I’m satisfied that I am now in my fictional world – I start pounding the keys. After a page or two, it’s time to get a candy bar. By the time I’m done writing I’ve consumed two cookies, three candy bars, a brownie and a dish of chocolate chip ice cream.
